We believe the best way to support you is by offering a flexible removals service, tailoring each move to suit your needs. Questions will naturally arise and we are happy to answer them, the selection below may help with core points.
How do I book my removal?
Although it is advisable to book your removal as early as possible, the removal date should only really be agreed once you have exchanged contracts with your house buyer, and have a firm date for handing over keys. After submitting a quote request or enquiry to us we will reply with an acknowledgement. Once both parties have agreed a suitable date, you can contact us and immediately consider your removal booked with us.
Is insurance included?
Some Removal Companies will charge for insurance and in fact also act as an insurance broker, arranging cover on the removal customers behalf. McCrorys do not charge for insurance and provide All Risks Cover, up to the value of £30,000 per consignment. Higher cover can also be arranged. This costs nothing for the customer, and is less trouble too, and, although the customer is invited to list items with a value of each item on the inventory, our industry standard cover would still be automatically provided, for unlisted consignments. All details are provided on the terms and conditions, on McCrorys Removals Website. McCrorys have no vested interest in handling customers cover, and so are completely independent in handling claims.
Do you offer packing and what is included?
Yes McCrorys offer a full packing service, which can be quoted for separately. This includes packing all of the crockery, glassware, clothes, linen, lamps, books, pictures etc into cartons and marking the cartons for positioning them at your new home. The full packing service is often carried out the day previous to removal. Unpacking is rarely required, but we would be happy to quote for that service too, by request.
Will you place our furniture at our new home?
Our removal staff will position your furniture as directed by you, the customer. Insurance will not cover employees to work in lofts or roof-spaces which do not have permanent staircases, lighting, and flooring. Any floor more than one flight up, and without a lift adequate to fit all furniture must be agreed in advance, otherwise quote would not be valid. Dismantling and assembly of furniture must be agreed in advance.
What access is required for your removal lorry?
Our attention should be drawn to any local height, length, and weight restrictions. Please let us know if turning off into a narrow lane is involved to gain access to either address. Parking permits to be paid and arranged by customer. Any additional costs or time/distance needed to load/unload would be added to the original quoted price.
Do you provide storage?
This can be arranged and we are uniquely placed to offer container handling, which means our customers only have to pay for one removal, with no charges for handling into or out of our premises.
What is your cancellation policy?
In line with industry standards, cancellation fees may apply, and will include charges for our out of pocket expenses incurred. Also Full Removal Fee will be forfeited, if cancellation is less than Seven Days prior to removal date, as this usually, is too late for vehicles and crews to be redeployed. Indemnity insurance cover is available for this eventuality.
Do you offer office removals?
We can offer a comprehensive office relocation service
Do you offer part load removal?
Although the majority of our customer’s book a full house removal, we also offer a Part Load Service. Especially when this is over long distances, we regard this as a Courier Service. Our Courier service is a ‘Driver only Kerbside’ service. The driver will gladly provide extra assistance where necessary but may also require the customer to provide additional assistance if the item is bulky and/or heavy. Large items may incur an extra charge if a porter is required to accompany the driver. Long Distance Part Load basis, means your loading and/or unloading dates may be flexible, but can be agreed in advance.
