Since Brexit, there is a lot more space on the Irish Ferry routes into Dublin Port.
This is partly because of the extra customs formalities, and also owing to travel restrictions during the pandemic.

Some of the decks are sometimes completely empty, or just part full with vehicles, and its mostly freight traffic, and very few private motorists, because they have to fill in forms to enable tracing after arrival and comply with isolating for periods too.

Also some ferry crossings are being cancelled on a regular basis, and still struggling to fill the existing ferry spaces.

So, surprisingly, travel by ferry, feels quite safe, and not so risky as other modes of travel, because of the mandatory wearing of facemasks, whilst onboard all Irish Ferries Routes and also because of the amount of space now available.

And when moving house between the UK and Ireland, it is easier to make bookings for the remover, as well as the removal customer, but still need to start booking the removal company a few weeks in advance of removal date, in order to commence the Customs Declaration Documents processing for Transfer of Residence.
