This Dublin to Preston removal brought us close enough to the famous Leyland Commercial Vehicle Transport Museum to pay it a visit.
And, one of the exhibits in the Museum is the Pope Mobile.
It was specially designed for the visit of Pope Paul's visit to Britain in 1982.
And it even featured bullet proof glass panels, as well as underfloor armour.
The vehicle was donated to the museum, but eventually was sold to its present owner,
Mr John Hanlon of Greencore, Ireland. and it still takes pride of place amongst some of the most interesting and notable Leyland Historical Vehicles, including some of the earliest Steam Driven vehicles, as well as the latest Prototypes.
It was well worth a visit!
